Telehealth Midwifery Services
Our practitioners at Welcome Home are here to support you in your goals for your body and your family, and we work to preserve your safety and choices utilizing the midwifery model of care.
Our Certified Nurse Midwife offers an array of medical contraceptive options (such as prescription medication, injectable birth control, and intrauterine devices), the management of disease in preconception and pregnancy, STI treatment, and abortion care. Care from a CNM can include fertility awareness education, counseling for barrier and topical methods of contraception (such as diaphragms, cervical caps, spermicides, and condoms) as well as preconception planning and intrauterine insemination (IUI) services.

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
IUI at Welcome Home is a low-intervention service offered to individuals who are overall healthy and do not have serious fertility issues. We offer intrauterine insemination (IUI) services using known donor sperm or frozen sperm from a sperm bank. The IUI process begins with you tracking your ovulation--this gives valuable information about the timing and quality of your ovulation, and increases the likelihood of achieving a pregnancy with as few attempts as possible. The office procedure for IUI involves a pelvic exam with a speculum and the placement of sperm directly into your uterus around the time of ovulation. For most clients the insemination itself is a comfortable experience. When using fresh sperm from a known donor, we wash and prepare this on-site immediately prior to the insemination. We do not offer medications or extensive lab workups for infertility at this time, however if you have irregular cycles you may be referred to another member of our clinical team for co-management or extra support. |
Fertility Awareness Consultations
Our Licensed Midwives and Certified Nurse Midwives offer consultations to help you determine if you are ovulating, the timing of your ovulation, and how to plan or avoid conception. This visit can also include collecting a thorough medical history, physical exam, and offering preconception labwork. We strongly urge you to book a fertility consultation prior to consulting for IUI. Contraception Counseling
Our practice offers the full array of contraceptive options. These are generally covered by your insurance, however we offer options for cost-effective medications and devices on an as-needed basis. First-Trimester Miscarriage Management and Abortion
Our nurse midwife offers safe, private, and evidence-based care for clients needing to terminate a pregnancy in the first trimester. This care is confidential and judgment-free. Like all midwifery care, abortion care with us is intended to be as comfortable and safe as possible, with Telehealth and home care options available for many clients. |
